Physiotherapist

Physiotherapists work with other health professionals to treat patients. They help patients improve their health and mobility by using a range of techniques such as massage, manipulation and therapeutic exercise.

Physiotherapists help many types of patients, such as elderly patients, patients recovering from accidents, and patients with conditions such as cystic fibrosis and sickle cell anaemia. As well as providing treatment at the time, physiotherapists will often show the patient physiotherapy exercises that they can do themselves to continue their treatment between sessions.

Most physiotherapists work in hospitals, but you can find physiotherapists working in places such as sports and community centres, schools, work places and clinics.
