Genetic problems
Some people are born with a variation in their genes that causes certain cells in their body not to work properly, this can lead to an illness. Scientists at QMUL and at other centres around the world are looking at ways of understanding, treating and preventing illnesses caused by variations in our genes.
Genes and us
Everyone has a unique set of genes and it is the variation in our genes that gives us all our individual characteristics.
Finding a deafness gene
Some people are deaf because they have inherited a change in the genes that are responsible for hearing.
