Summer Family Workshop - Making Science Beautiful

Making Science Beautiful is a FREE workshop developed to show you the beauty of the microscopic world that is hidden to the naked eye.
If you enjoy Science, Art or just getting creative you will love this workshop.
When?
Sessions will run from 11:30am until 2:30pm (with a half an hour lunch break) on:
- Thursday 29th July
- Thursday 5th August
- Thursday 12th August
- Thursday 19th August
- Thursday 26th August
All sessions will begin with a Pod show inside our 16-cell embryo-shaped pod, suspended over the laboratories of the Blizard Institute. Once inside, you will gather around a central 'nucleus' for a powerful audiovisual display, projected around the walls of the pod, which introduces cells - the building blocks of life. The nucleus opens to reveal touch-table games: you can try your hand at virtual experiments, heal extensive burns and have your cells counted. You also get to see real body parts and diagnose cancer using high-power microscopes. This part of the visit will last for one hour. After a half an hour break the experience will continue in our brand new inflatable learning bubble for the remaining 1 hour.
