Technical troubleshooting

If you are experiencing trouble please follow the relevant steps below.

Forgotten your username or password.

If you have forgotten your username or password please go to the Retrieve your details page.

Can't log in

To be able to log into the site you need to have cookies enabled. Please see instruction below for details

To set cookies in Windows browsers:

Internet explorer

  1. Select Tools
  2. Select Internet Options
  3. Select the Privacy tab.
  4. Select Advanced
  5. Deselect override automatic cookie handling button
  6. Click on the OK button at the bottom of the screen.
  7. Click OK to exit

Firefox

  1. Click on the Tools on the Toolbar.
  2. Click Options
  3. Click the Privacy selection.
  4. Click Cookies
  5. Check the Enable cookies and Accept cookies normally checkboxes.
  6. Click OK to exit

Netscape

  1. Click Edit on the Toolbar.
  2. Click Preferences
  3. Click the Privacy and Security category; expand the list to show the subcategories.
  4. Click Cookies
  5. Three options are displayed. Click the appropriate choice:
    • Disable cookies
    • Enable cookies for the originating web site only
    • Enable all cookies
    • If you want to be notified when a web site tries to set a cookie, select "Warn me before accepting a cookie."

To set cookies in Macintosh browsers:

Safari

  1. Click Safari from the top menu
  2. Select Preferences
  3. Click the Security tab
  4. Under Accept Cookies choose from Always or Only from sites you navigate to

Firefox

  1. Click Firefox from the top menu
  2. Click the Privacy tab
  3. Under Cookies check Accept cookies from sites

I can't see videos, quizzes or interactives

You need to make sure you have both Flash 8 installed, and Javascript enabled in your browser

Enabling Javascript in Windows browsers:

Internet Explorer

  1. Select Tools from the top menu
  2. Choose Internet Options
  3. Click on the Security tab
  4. Click on Custom Level
  5. Scroll down until you see section labelledScripting
  6. Under Active Scripting, select Enable and click OK

Firefox

  1. Select Tools from the top menu
  2. Choose Options
  3. Choose Web Features from the left navigation
  4. Select the checkbox next to Enable JavaScript and click OK

Netscape

  1. Select Edit from the top menu
  2. Choose Preferences
  3. Choose Advanced
  4. Choose Scripts & Plugins
  5. Select the 'Enable JavaScript' checkbox and click OK

Enabling Javascript in Macintosh browsers

Safari

  1. Select Safari from the top menu
  2. Choose Preferences
  3. Choose Security
  4. Under Web Content check Enable JavaScript

Firefox

  1. Select Firefox from the top menu
  2. Choose Preferences
  3. Choose Content
  4. Check Enable JavaScript
