Centre of the Cell, in Whitechapel’s Blizard Institute, will open its doors to a limited number of families for an afternoon of interactive games, videos, conversations with experts, and explorations of the science of us. Open afternoons will feature timed interactive multimedia shows in our STEM Pod, and hands-on activities and games in our new Neuron Pod.
Each event will explore a different theme: Gross Out (A fun look at snot, sick, scabs, blood, and poo) or Genes and Origins (the stories and science of DNA and evolution).
During your visit, you and your family will be able to relax in the Blizard Institute’s Nucleus Café, buy your own Giant Microbes in the Centre of the Cell shop, and take a peek at the laboratories and offices in the Blizard Institute.
These events are suitable for children aged 7 – 14 and their families.
