Gynaecologist
Gynaecologists are doctors who specialise in women’s health. They are experts in women’s reproductive systems, including her ovaries, uterus and cervix.
A woman may see a gynaecologist if she is having trouble conceiving, if she is having problems with her menstrual cycle, or if she is suspected to have a condition related to her reproductive organs, for example cervical cancer.
A gynaecologist may use different techniques to diagnose a woman’s gynaecological problem, including ultrasound scans, a smear test or a hysterosalpingogram.
