Should there be limitations to which genes can be selected for during PGD?

“Gene selection should only be for valid medical reasons, and not for hair, eye colour etc.”

Might the use of PGD facilitate social selection, widening the gap in looks, intelligence and ability between the rich and the poor?

“If it’s done purely for medical reasons then this shouldn’t be a problem, whether this should be available privately is another issue.”

If embryos with certain diseases are discarded, how do you think this makes people living with the disease feel?

“It’s impossible to give an answer as some people will be happy that the next generation won’t have to go through what they have, and others will say that it’s not right to be selective.”
