Can I be your friEnd(MT)?
Did you know that all blood vessels are lined with Endothelial cells? These cells need to cope with many different environments such as large, high-pressure arteries or the tiniest capillaries in the corners of your eyes. To do this they can change their characteristics helping the body to respond to injury and injection. In this image one endothelial cell is going through a process called Endothelial-to-Mesenchymal Transition (EndMT). We are researching if we can use EndMT to help mend damaged blood vessels.
