Fibronectin produced by heathy and cancer-associated fibroblasts

These two images show fibronectin produced by fibroblasts under different conditions. In healthy fibroblasts (top), fibronectin forms a loose, mesh-like network. In cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs; bottom), fibronectin is more organized and aligned. This structured arrangement could promote directional tumour cell migration. Scale bar = 100μm
