REMODEL: Modelling Cancers in 3D
Ovarian cancer mini tumour recreated in the lab using material derived from patients. Cancer cells (shown in red) interact with each other and with their surrounding environment through a protein called CD9 (yellow). Fibronectin (blue) is a structural protein normally found in tissues, where it provides support and shape. Macrophages (green) are immune cells that are trying to reach and eliminate the cancer cells.
